Welcome to Staffordshire Children's Services

Staffordshire is a beautiful place to live and work. The cost of living is comparably low, and we have excellent schools. Most of our families enjoy happy, healthy lives here, but there are some who cannot thrive in the way they want to.

In a county as big as ours, we face diverse challenges. There are pockets of rural isolation and urban deprivation and we’re seeing a growing need for family support at a time when budgets are tight.

We’re proud to say that we’re rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and we’re embracing the challenge to become even better.

We continue to invest millions in children’s social care against a context of considerable financial challenge.

We also continue to innovate our working practices to ensure a whole family approach to prevention and early help, which frees the time of our social workers to change the lives of our most vulnerable families.

We can support you to grow and develop to lead the development of cutting-edge practice and make the most of new tech to achieve a positive work-life balance.

If you are interested in either the Assistant Director Children’s Social Care or Head of SEND role then we would like to hear from you, please contact our colleagues at Penna who will be able to provide you with further information.
